About KARSAA
The Korea-America Relations Seminar Alumni Association (KARSAA) carries the Korea-America Relations Seminar beyond West Point, connecting graduates, cadets, and supporters for a lifetime.
Our Mission
To cultivate a community of West Point graduates, cadets, and supporters through mentorship, cultural exchange, and professional development while empowering leaders to advance Korean American interests and serve the public good.
Our Vision
To become the central network for KARS alumni in the U.S. military and civilian sectors, and a bridge between the Korean American community and national service.
Our History
KARSAA builds on the Korea-America Relations Seminar (KARS), established at the United States Military Academy in 1991. As an independent, alumni-led organization, KARSAA carries the seminar’s traditions, knowledge and relationships into graduates’ service and civilian lives.

Community
Keeping a dispersed community connected
KARS alumni serve in units and live in cities around the world. Our email list already reaches more than 200 of them, and events like the Army-Navy Social bring them back together in person.
Leadership
Closing the mentorship gap
Cadets, junior officers and service members leaving the military often need advice from someone who has made the same move. Our Mentorship Program and panels prepare them for military and civilian careers.
Education
Building bridges
Talks and events on Korea-America relations and Korean culture, such as Posting Korea at West Point. Our 2026 Army-Navy Social was supported by the National Korean Student Alliance (N-KSA).
Where We Are Today
- February 2, 2026 Incorporated as a Georgia nonprofit corporation.
- February 2, 2026 Effective date of our 501(c)(3) tax exemption.
- February 14, 2026 Board adopted our bylaws.
- February 21, 2026 Our first event, the Army-Navy Social in Washington, D.C., and Fort Myer, Virginia, brought together 140 cadets and alumni.
- April 21, 2026 Posting Korea, a talk for cadets at West Point.
- Today Our alumni email list reaches more than 200 KARS alumni.
- By January 2027 Mentorship Program sign-ups for the first round planned to open.
Our Symbol
The KARSAA symbol is a symmetrical flower in navy, red, gold and green. Its colors come from Obangsaek (오방색), the traditional Korean five-color palette. The symmetry stands for alumni across class years, and the gold center stands for KARSAA as their common ground.

KARSAA is a Georgia nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN 41-4194847). Our legal name is West Point Korea-America Relations Seminar (KARS) Alumni Association Corp., and IRS records list us as West Point Korea-America Relations Seminar KARS Alumni Association. karsaa.org is our official website, and [email protected] is our official email. KARSAA is run entirely by volunteers.
